Broad credential badges can mean different things for different work. For commercial janitorial service, we’d rather show the specific registration and coverage that apply.
Janitorial service provider registration.
California’s Property Service Workers Protection Act requires qualifying commercial janitorial service providers to register with the Labor Commissioner’s Office and renew annually. The state’s FAQ specifically includes providers who clean commercial establishments and have no employees.
This registration is for janitorial service providers. It is separate from a California construction contractor’s license.
Commercial liability coverage.
Liability insurance is coverage for the work performed; it is not the state janitorial registration. Once 805's commercial liability policy is active, we’ll state that here and make proof of coverage available upon request.
We will list only coverage actually in effect.
What about a contractor’s license?
Ordinary janitorial cleaning falls under the Labor Commissioner’s janitorial registration program. California’s Contractors State License Board administers a separate license system for qualifying construction and alteration work. We do not call janitorial registration a contractor’s license.
